Sister Songs for Who’s Most Wanted Like Beyonce & Miley

Most sisters grow up close to one another — though they may have argued about bathroom time or stolen one another’s clothes (or boyfriends). Sisters help one another in hard times and celebrate in good times.

Your sister is just as important to you now that you’re a bride, as she was during your childhood — maybe more. So, why not honor her? Select a song that has a special meaning between you as sisters.

Quick Tips

When picking out the song to play for your sister, you must consider the following 3 factors:

1. Does the song have a special meaning to both of you?
2. Does the song’s meaning describe your relationship?
3. What is the tempo of the song (fast or slow) to determine the style of dance that fits best (if you dance together)?

As an experienced wedding DJ, I’ve assembled a list of songs about sisters. Songs are selected by the meaning of the song and popular hits by today’s marriers. Besides new and trending, additional lists are grouped by genre to match your taste in music.

Fun Facts

A good song celebrates your little sister as someone you trust, love, and a true friend. Good little sister songs include “Dance Little Sister” by The Rolling Stones and “Look at Little Sister” by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.

A good song celebrates your older sister as someone you trust, love, and a true friend. Good older sister songs include “Older Sister” by Carly Simon and “My Sister” by Reba McEntire.

How can I include my sister or the sister of the groom in the wedding?

The best way to honor your sister or the groom’s sister is to have her part of the wedding party as a bridesmaid or groomswoman. Depending on her age, you could also have her as the flower girl. Another option is to have her perform a ceremony reading.

We recommend playing the song during the wedding reception so that everyone can participate in dancing to the song. But, if your sister is a musician, she might have written you a special song to play during the ceremony. We’ve seen a lot of talent in our days.

If you’d like to keep the moment private between you (as the bride) and your sister, play it during your wedding photos. Or while she is helping you with your gown. It makes a great photo opportunity.
