37 Modern Foxtrot Songs To Dance At Weddings
With TV shows like Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, many ballroom dance styles, like the foxtrot, are mainstream.
Millions of people are watching the shows and want to be just like them. They want the spotlight to be on them with the romance and flow just like the stars.
One of the dance styles making a comeback is the foxtrot. The foxtrot consists of long, continuous fluent movements across the dance floor. The beats per minute range from about 120 to 136. However, songs are often remixed or can be manipulated with speed. There are different styles of the foxtrot which would also vary the styles of music.
If you are learning the foxtrot dance moves, be sure to communicate with your instructor the type of foxtrot you wish to dance.
The basic timing of a foxtrot dance is 4/4. Typically the foxtrot has rhythm steps of slow, slow, quick, quick (four steps). You can learn the basic foxtrot steps online.
Even though the Foxtrot debuted in the early 1900s doesn’t mean you have to have songs from the same era. Many modern songs can be played to dance the foxtrot. So let’s get started with our list of modern foxtrot songs.
