Best Party Songs as I Wanna Dance With Somebody Who Loves Me

Know popular party songs to get people dancing!

best party songs for dancing at weddings

Quick Tips

When picking out your party songs, you must consider the following 3 factors:

1. Will you as the wedding couple dance to the song – being on the dance floor will inspire others to dance?
2. When in the day will the song play?
3. What is the tempo of the song (fast or slow) to determine the style of dance that fits best?

As an experienced wedding DJ, I’ve assembled a list of party songs. Songs are selected by danceability and popular hits for today’s couples. Besides new and trending, additional lists are grouped by genre to match your taste in music.

Fun Facts

Selecting the best party songs is, in itself, a great task. It’s not as easy as you think; it takes much effort.

This is why I provide this list of party songs so that it will inspire you as the wedding couple when you sit down to plan your wedding.

You can even check out the ultimate collection of the best wedding songs that you can find anywhere.

Choose the songs you want to hear during the dancing portion of your wedding reception.

Then, be sure to give the list to the master of ceremonies or music entertainment before the wedding. This way, they will have all the songs you desire to have played.

Even better is to plan this with your professional DJ.

In short, no. Your wedding reception is about having fun. You can get your groove on to “Shook Me All Night Long” in a tux. No worries.

Though, you may want to bring more comfortable shoes or just dance barefoot. However, not every party song will fit the theme of every wedding.

No wedding is complete without music. Everyone will remember the ambiance and dancing at your wedding reception. Guests will also remember whether or not he or they had a good time.

(Remember, they bought you really nice gifts. You want them to think it was worth it.)

In fact, songs are the most important essence that adds flavor to the wedding.

Getting down on the dance floor is the best way to express one’s enjoyment.

One thing to consider when not having a DJ playing music at your party is the quality of the Internet bandwidth.

You do not want the music to stop due to lag time or even worse not be able to play due to a lack of Internet access.

Next, create a playlist on Spotify in the order you wish them played. Don’t forget about slow songs too for couples!

Next, get a paid subscription so that you do not hear ads.

Lastly, turn on the feature to blend the songs together within the Spotify settings.

Most of the songs listed are modern and well-known hits. Also, check out a list of dance songs for an older crowd.

I am a Wedding DJ and have been for 35+ years. I love your lists, and how you have them categorized, and with the year. I found several songs I will add to my playlist. I recently took my database and tried to put songs in folders of different Genres/Eras as my music was a mess. It is now much easier to manage. I use Virtual DJ as my software.
