Being in Las Vegas definitely has its advantages. There are places in Vegas that you can only experience here or only a few places in the world. The Minus 5 Bar Las Vegas is just one of those must visit locations. Everything in the Bar is made if ice. We visited the Bar located in the Mandalay Bay. Before entering the bar, guests are given a long winter coat, gloves optional Russian cap and boots for those not wearing closed-toed shoes. A fur coat is also available for those willing to pay a significant up-charge. No electronic devices are allowed inside (lockers are available for no charge). They want you to purchase the photos that their professional photographers take of you. The fee for a picture is $20 each at the end of the experience.
As we stated above, everything in the bar is made of ice. This includes the walls, chandeliers, glasses, and sculptures. For people visiting just for the experience, expect to pay a wapping $17 entrance fee. However, for $34, you can get entry and also 2 alcoholic drinks. All hard liquor drinks are served in ice glasses. Visitors also have the option to get a beer. Keep in mind that beer freezes! So beer is served in a plastic cup for $7 each, plus tip. The bartender we had had a great personality and really helped make the bar an experience.
What a great place for brides and grooms to get a wedding picture! Before going, think of all the fun ways to get pictures including props for cold weather or even shirtless for the men.
Just as a side note, there is also another Minus 5 Bar in the Monte Carlo. If you watch the TV show Tanked, ATM installed a jellyfish fish take into the bar. However, they could not keep the jellyfish alive. This was not because of the water temperature but rather they went into shock with the glass walls.
Matt loves listening to any music style he can understand the words. He lives in the wedding capital of the world, Las Vegas, with his wife Sharon. Matt's other likes include craft beer, baseball, and traveling.
