Best Eagles Songs Top 10 All-Time
Last Updated: May 26, 2022 | Written by Matthew Campbell
The Eagles are considered one of the greatest rock bands of all-time. We are not the only ones that think so too. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
The Eagles started in 1971 and played together until 1980. The band then decided to take a break. A long break. The hiatus was for fourteen years. The Eagles reformed in 1994 and still play together today. Their 2014 tour is called The History of the Eagles and play songs from the beginning, through the Hell Freezes Over album and also some of Joe Walsh’s legendary hits. Glenn Fry passed in January 2016 and the band will never be the same again.
Current Band Members:
- Glenn Frey – vocals, guitars, keyboard, harmonica
- Don Henley – vocals, drums, percussion, guitar
- Joe Walsh – guitars, vocals, keyboards
- Timothy B. Schmit – bass, vocals, guitars
Former Members:
- Bernie Leadon
- Randy Meisner

#1 I Can’t Tell You Why – Eagles
Released in 1980
On Album: The Long Run
Cause I love you
Nothing’s wrong as far as I can see
We make it harder than it has to be
And I can’t tell you why
We rank this song not only for its mass popularity but for what it means to the band. Timothy B. Schmit joined the band and the band wanted Timothy to be the lead singer on a song. This is that song that promoted Timothy as an Eagles band member and a music star.
